Server Assistant

We are seeking enthusiastic Server Assistants to join our team at Coppin’s Restaurant inside the Hotel Covington
.

Hotel Covington is a modern luxury hotel housed in a historic downtown building, offering an authentic, locally inspired experience for both business and leisure travelers. We pride ourselves on excellent service, inspired by local culture and a vibrant food & beverage scene.

Job Responsibilities:

• Consistently deliver exceptional service to guests
• Follow established service guidelines
• Clean, set, and reset tables, manage your station and side duties
• Serve water, bread, coffee, and assist in food and beverage service
• Properly handle trays and ensure safety standards
• Assist with setup and breakdown of stations and food displays
• Fold napkins and maintain supplies
• Support other food and beverage departments as needed
• Answer phones politely and promptly
• Provide guests with a friendly and professional dining experience
• Anticipate and fulfill guest needs proactively
• Serve and clear food and beverages unobtrusively
• Be knowledgeable about menus, ingredients, and wine list
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setting tables and handling cash registers
• Present menus and specials confidently
• Utilize the hotel’s POS system for transactions and reporting
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas
• Ensure guest satisfaction and handle issues appropriately
• Recognize and manage guest concerns, including intoxicated or disruptive guests
• Stock and polish serviceware and equipment
• Assist with buffet and display setup and breakdown
• Transport food from kitchen to service areas safely and attractively
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff
• Assist with table-side service and explain dishes to guests
• Maintain professional demeanor and uphold hotel standards at all times
• Build rapport with guests, including regulars, to enhance their experience
• Handle guest checks, payments, and transactions accurately
• Set up and deliver orders to guest rooms as needed
• Respond appropriately to hotel emergencies or safety issues
