Responsible for properly preparing various types of Pastries & Desserts and to ensure that all presentations are aesthetically appealing and adhere to the Jeff Ruby standard of quality.

• Prepare all pastry items in accordance to company approved recipes.
• Develop new and innovative pastry items to be used as specials or potential new menu items.
• Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service.
• Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness.
• Daily sets up workstation and keeps it neat and clean.
• Assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line.
• Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation.

• Ability to stand and walk during 6 to 8 hour shifts.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
• Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers.
• Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise.

• Food preparation knowledge and line work experience.
• Ability to operate various cooking equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret recipes.

At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience required.
