General FunctionAs a Mia Italian Clerk, this position will be responsible for taking orders from customers over the telephone or counter, receiving products requested by the department manager, and checking to ensure orders are correct. Additionally, the employee will maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
Reporting RelationsAccountable to and reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home;
Food Service Director;

- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, learning customers’ names when possible and addressing them by name.
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service, including taking customer orders and taking orders at the counter.
- Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures and ensure the work area is clean and neat.
- Review the status and appearance of food for freshness and prepare pizza toppings.
- Order breads from the bakery or outside as needed.
- Receive product and verify orders.
- Pre‑bake (partially bake) pizza crust for the pizza case.
- Ensure an adequate supply of product is ready and on hand, anticipating daily needs.
- Prepare, finish, and replenish product as necessary.
- Inventory the cold case and determine necessary replacement.
- Run the department registers and handle payment, making change where applicable.
- Remove trash promptly and maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines, reporting to work when scheduled and on time.
- Order product requested by the department manager.
- Prepare pizza dough and bread sticks when necessary.
- Pull old product from the case and replace with new product.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions and deal with few concrete variables.
- Competence in simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, count, and record.
- Understanding and following verbal or demonstrated instructions, writing identifying information, and requesting supplies orally or in writing.
High school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related experience.
Physical Requirements- Exert up to 20‑25 pounds of force occasionally; up to 10 pounds frequently; negligible force constantly to move objects.
- Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, and field of vision.
- Perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
This position is continually exposed to flour, dust, noise, and temperature extremes, with occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals or solvents. The work environment is fast paced and under significant pressure.
Equipment Used to Perform JobOven, steamer, scale, big mixer, shrink wrap machine, CARS program, register, walk‑in cooler, pizza cutter, knives, and slice cases.
ContactsDaily contact with internal customers and the general public; weekly contact with suppliers/vendors; contact with federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies as necessary.
