** Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting a progressive and diversified agricultural cooperative in Ohio with the search for an Agronomy Sales Specialist. This opportunity is ideal for an agronomy professional who enjoys working directly with growers, building long-term relationships, and helping producers maximize crop performance and profitability through sound agronomic recommendations and exceptional customer service.
This well-established cooperative operates multiple agronomy and grain facilities throughout central Ohio and offers a full range of agronomic products and services, including seed, crop protection products, nutrients, custom application, and precision agriculture solutions. Utilizing both traditional application equipment and drone technology, the organization provides growers with innovative solutions designed to improve efficiency and productivity.
The Agronomy Sales Specialist will be responsible for managing and growing an assigned territory through crop scouting, agronomic recommendations, sales of crop inputs and services, and the development of strong customer relationships. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to growers while working closely with operations personnel to ensure customer needs are met throughout the crop production cycle.
** Responsibilities
* ** Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective grower customers
* Promote and sell seed, crop protection products, fertilizer, nutrients, and agronomy services
* Conduct crop scouting and field evaluations throughout the growing season
* Make sound agronomic recommendations based on field conditions and customer goals
* Coordinate application schedules and service needs with operations personnel
* Prepare sales quotes and accurately enter orders utilizing company software systems
* Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory
* Obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications
* Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements
* Assist other departments during peak seasonal periods as needed
** Qualifications
* ** Associate degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Production, or related field preferred; equivalent agricultural experience will be considered
* Knowledge of agronomic practices, seed, fertilizer, crop protection products, and soil fertility
* Agronomy sales, crop consulting, crop scouting, ag retail, or related agricultural experience preferred
* Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
* Excellent communication and organizational abilities
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer accounts
* Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn company software systems
* Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
* No DUI or OVI violations within the past five years
