Job Overview
Trades Specialist – Commercial Construction Field Sales (Columbus, OH)
Responsibilities- Achieve top‑line sales targets based on division and local market goals & objectives by selling DEWALT, STANLEY, LENOX, IRWIN, BOSTITCH, PORTER CABLE and other brands to end‑user customers.
- Establish, develop, and maintain key relationships with end‑user partners through product and services solutions and by managing CORE and other SBD user contracts and programs.
- Teach and mentor the local market team on end‑user development: identifying contacts (trade associations, safety personnel, engineers, quality managers, general managers, line supervisors, chief mechanics, purchasing), understanding the purchasing process (central and facility), and aligning local market, product managers, distributors, and service centers.
- Partner with Channel Marketing to implement and coordinate marketing initiatives.
- Maintain and use as a CRM and planning tool.
- Communicate successes and failures in a timely manner to streamline processes and advance success with key accounts and opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred; relevant construction field experience may substitute for higher education.
- 3+ years of experience in sales or marketing for construction supplies with a proven track record delivering results, including selling to high‑level executives, C‑Suite, and job‑site directors.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to blend empathy and determination to achieve outstanding results.
- Valid Driver’s License and physical ability to travel up to 50% within the territory.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications:
Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
- Total Target Cash Compensation: $84,000.00 – $ (base salary plus commission).
