Account Executive – WEWS, The E.W. Scripps Company (Cleveland, OH)

We are seeking an Account Executive to join our team serving the Canton and Akron region. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to local businesses, connecting them with innovative multi‑platform advertising solutions that drive real results.

• Sell advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies, including television commercial airtime sales and full Scripps digital marketing options.
• Independently prospect, secure appointments, perform needs analysis, develop customized solutions, present, and close sales to develop and maintain new business.
• Use ratings data, qualitative information, and market trends to negotiate program ratings and advertising rates with agencies to maximize revenue.
• Serve as a trusted advisor with new and existing clients, provide best‑in‑class customer service, grow accounts, and increase business from referrals.
• Provide client services including media avails negotiations, preparation and delivery of presentations, leveraging AI tools as appropriate, and other related support activities.
• Effectively manage a sales funnel using CRM systems, monitoring and achieving key performance indicators and activity levels.
• Contribute to the creative development of campaigns through client communication and collaboration with the WEWS commercial production team.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, including entertaining prospective and existing clients.
• Perform routine administrative functions of a media salesperson, including make‑good resolution, continuous updates of CRM, and communication with sales leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• BS/BA in a related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
• Generally 2+ years of proven sales success preferred.
• Experience in strategic account management, broadcast ratings, and digital execution preferred.
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Working knowledge of virtual conferencing platforms (Skype, Web Ex, Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).

Annual salary: $50,000 – $55,000 (Ohio). Includes uncapped sales commission, monthly allowance for mileage and cell phone, and a career path for growth.
