3-5 year strong graduate degree in ecology, biology, or related field, with strong appreciation for wildlife disease management. The position is a 2‑year postdoctoral associate focused on modeling and practical application of sarcoptic mange control in wildlife. Work will be conducted in the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia.
Duties and Responsibilities- Design and conduct research on infectious disease management (70%)
- Write scholarly articles and present research (20%)
- Assist with collaborative projects (10%)
- Proficient with coding (e.g., R) and mathematical/statistical modeling
- Experience working with wildlife, including surveying or handling, and familiarity with wildlife pathogens
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders on ground disease management problems
- Ability to translate modeling frameworks to a variety of host species and produce data‑informed management guidelines
Physical demands include driving as needed for job duties. Position requires a valid driver’s license. Background investigation, credit check, and potential drug test may be required as part of the hiring process.
