As an HVAC technician within our Facilities Services team, you’ll be responsible for the operation, repair, installation, and maintenance of building mechanical and refrigeration equipment and systems. You’ll ensure the equipment stays in compliance with EPA guidelines in our corporate office space throughout the Cleveland market. You’ll help keep our Class A office and mission‑critical facilities running and in compliance with standards and company safety practices by maintaining and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation controls.

In addition, you’ll support small and medium HVAC projects, assist with incident and disaster recovery response, and work with facilities leaders, engineers, vendors, and apprentices to improve system reliability and safety.

Must‑Have Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of five years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician or equivalent status in a commercial/industrial application.
  • Universal EPA CFC Certification from an accredited school or a completed apprenticeship program.
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • This position requires compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and/or policies.
Preferred Skills
  • Hands‑on experience operating and performing preventive/predictive maintenance on commercial HVAC/R systems and building automation systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in refrigerant recovery and evacuation in accordance with EPA Section 608 (with current certification).
  • Strong background in diagnosing and repairing HVAC electrical control systems and related components.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Skilled in brazing, soldering, and related piping techniques for HVAC/R installation and repair.
Compensation
  • $55,700 – $74,200 per year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • May require lifting greater than 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors, including ability to tolerate extreme weather conditions.
  • Exposure to chemicals, equipment, noise and other work conditions typically found in a commercial facility is possible.
  • Required to frequently walk, sit, bend and kneel.
  • Required to use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to climb, balance, stoop, crouch and crawl.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Involves operating machinery and equipment.
  • Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as manipulate small items, determine the distance between objects, and differentiate between colors, shades, and brightness.
