Equipment Operator 2 (Blue Rock State Forest) – (260003NT)
Location:
Blue Rock State Forest, Muskingum County, Ohio – 6665 Cutler Lake Rd., Blue Rock, OH 43720‑9740.
Organization:
Natural Resources, Division of Forestry.
Job Type: Full‑time.
Work Hours:
8:00‑4:30 M‑F / variable. Union: OCSEA.
Compensation:
Starting $21.64/hr with increases over first 3.5 years to $23.91/hr requires a Class A CDL with no restrictions.
- Operate heavy motorized equipment to complete a variety of construction and maintenance functions.
- Perform wildfire support (e.g., forest fire line construction, trails, culverts, roads and bridges).
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and building/ground maintenance.
- Assist with wildfire suppression and prescribed fire support.
- Earn starting hourly pay of $21.64/hr with multiple pay increases over the first 3.5 years of service, ending at $23.91/hr.

Formal education in arithmetic including fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary. Nine months of training or experience in operation of heavy motorized equipment (e.g., 7‑ton dozer, 8‑10‑ton roller, concrete mixer, excavator, low‑boy, vacuum‑all or 10‑ton sweeper, 10‑ton tractor, 25,000‑to‑35,000‑pound dump truck) and related safety practices. Valid commercial driver’s license.
