Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability and safety
- Diagnose electrical issues and implement corrective actions
- Support system upgrades, modifications, and new installations
- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and site‑specific requirements
- Utilize electrical testing equipment and tools to verify system performance
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and repairs
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and facility teams
- Adhere to all safety, security, and operational procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, technical training, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety protocols
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work onsite in a secure federal facility
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices
- Works under supervision
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
- Works independently on standard assignments
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- Experience supporting complex or mission‑critical systems
- May lead tasks, mentor junior staff, and provide technical guidance
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or other federal facilities
- Experience in industrial, commercial, or research environments
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
- Active security clearance (if applicable)
