Overview

Maintenance Technician role at Amcor, focused on servicing and repairing plant machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.
  • Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; communicate with Maintenance Manager.
  • Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
  • Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
  • Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.
  • Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies.
  • Accurately log all work performed.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Perform PMs, cleans and lubricates molding machines and equipment.
  • Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Visually inspects and solves problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operation.
  • Documents repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Potential duties may also include: fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general facility repairs.
  • Performs installation of new equipment and/or relocation of equipment.
  • Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contractors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives.
  • Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC.
  • Safely perform plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.
  • Other duties and/or jobs as assigned.
