Floor Covering Installer

Performs manual work at the journeyman level in floor covering installation, maintenance, and repair. Work involves skilled floor covering tasks by maintaining, repairing, and applying blocks, strips, or sheets of shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, or decorative covering to floors, walls, and cabinets.

• Removal and installation of commercial glue-down carpeting.
• Removal and installation of vinyl composition tile (VCT) and related vinyl flooring.
• Other duties as assigned by managers.

Minimum Qualifications
:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
:
Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the floor covering trades; knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade; ability to read and understand construction plans, sketches, visual instructions, and layouts.

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. throughout shift.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, squat, work from a standard or extended ladder, and work with hands above head.
• Driving to perform work related duties.
