Maintenance Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.
• Pre‑inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with Maintenance Manager.
• Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
• Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.
• Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to review deficiencies.
• Accurately log all work performed.
• Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Perform PMs, clean and lubricate molding machines and equipment.
• Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment.
• Perform mechanic skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.
• Visually inspect and solve problems in machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
• Measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operation.
• Document repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
• Perform installation of new equipment and/or relocation of equipment.
• Potential duties may also include: fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general facility repairs.
• Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

• Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contractors, motor starters, solid‑state relays, soft starts and variable‑frequency drives.
• Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming.
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Experience with electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC.
• Ability to safely perform plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment, and other safety programs when working on equipment.
