Responsibilities

The Vac Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating vacuum excavation equipment to support utility and infrastructure projects. This role performs excavation and industrial cleaning services while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and enjoys working outdoors in a team‑oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate vacuum trucks and associated equipment in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Perform vacuum excavation and industrial cleaning services, including cleaning tanks, pipelines, and other equipment as required.
  • Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with job site setup and teardown, including connecting hoses, preparing equipment, and maintaining an organized work area.
  • Complete daily service logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in clean, serviceable condition and promptly report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Support other field operations as needed while promoting a culture of safety and teamwork.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating vacuum excavation equipment or hydro excavation trucks.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel to job sites and work overtime as needed.
