Container​/Chassis Mechanic

Con Global is hiring a Container/Chassis Mechanic to keep intermodal equipment safe and roadworthy. In this field-based role, you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair containers and chassis used in rail, ocean, and trucking operations. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, structural and mechanical repairs, brake and suspension work, and basic electrical troubleshooting while following strict safety and quality standards. You'll collaborate with terminal teams in a fast-paced yard environment and have opportunities to advance within operations, maintenance, and leadership across Con Global's North American network.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair intermodal containers and chassis for safe, compliant operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance on chassis, containers, brakes, suspensions, and structural components.
• Conduct structural, mechanical, and minor electrical repairs using appropriate tools and procedures.
• Document work performed, inspections, and parts used in maintenance systems accurately and on time.

• Global and regulatory safety procedures, PPE requirements, and yard/terminal rules.
• Collaborate with terminal and operations teams to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Use manuals, diagrams, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues.
• Operate yard equipment and forklifts as needed to move and stage chassis and containers.
