Advanced level job and family services occupation bridging gap between management and front-line staff under upper level supervision requiring knowledge of all services provided by Job and Family Services Department; assist in motivating, coach and develop, lead by example, facilitate problem solving for team members; perform rank 1 job duties and also must perform rank 2, 3 and 4 job duties.

Perform material and substantial duties of the classification more than 50% of the time

  • Schedule, assign, and coordinate daily work and tasks
  • Ensure program timeliness and accuracy through performance monitoring and case reviews.
  • Make recommendations for quality improvement and department processes to ensure adherence to federal/state/county program rules
  • Assist staff with policy and system questions, case resolution, and technical issues.
  • Handle customer calls, inquiries, and appointments, providing quality contact by phone or in person.
  • Conduct eligibility interviews, refer customers to employment and training programs, determine program eligibility, explain rights and responsibilities, and refer customers to other government programs and private agencies.
  • Act as a liaison between FAD, CSEA, CSD, ODM, JFS, DCY and other agencies to address case inquiries and reports
  • Provide refresher training for staff, and assist in training, coaching and development of staff.
  • Attend unit meetings with supervisors and staff as needed.
  • Attend State webinars and trainings and rotate note-sharing duties for to ensure distribution of information to staff.
  • Assist with completing State reports and responding to State inquiries.
  • Complete special projects and duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in business, criminal justice, job and family services, social work, sociology, political science, psychology or related discipline and one (1) year of experience administering public assistance programs; OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the minimum class requirements.

Driving Requirement: Must maintain a current, valid United States driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
