What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and deliver high‑quality software solutions that power healthcare and wellness experiences.
- Build and maintain mission‑critical APIs that power Humana’s Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) ecosystem, ensuring members, partners, and internal systems can access accurate, real‑time data at scale.
- Develop and optimise high‑performance backend services with a focus on reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Work hands‑on across the full development lifecycle—coding, testing, debugging, optimising, and deploying production‑ready systems.
- Raise the bar on engineering quality by developing robust testing strategies, tooling, automation, and standards.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing long‑term fixes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional agile teams, partnering with product, architecture, and QA to create solutions aligned with business and consumer needs.
- Apply engineering expertise to make independent decisions and solve ambiguous problems with minimal guidance.
- Seek opportunities to modernise legacy components, improve system resilience, performance, and backend observability and developer experience.
- Contribute to an engineering culture that values innovation, continuous learning, and relentless improvement of the consumer journey.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in software development, systems analysis, or application programming.
- Strong coding skills and familiarity with modern development practices (CI/CD, cloud platforms, automated testing, agile methodologies).
- A passion for building elegant, reliable, user‑centric software.
- A growth mindset and a desire to contribute to a mission‑driven organisation focused on improving healthcare.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Schedule40 hours per week.
Compensation$80,900 - $110,300 per year with a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
Work LocationRemote. Occasional travel to Humana’s offices may be required.
