Why Choose Shaffer TruckingOur drivers are paid based on practical miles, receiving 3–5% more total miles per year than companies that pay based on short‑route miles. Practical miles roll in faster with our newer speed limits (68
MPH cruise, 65
MPH pedal). The most productive 50% of our OTR drivers average more than $101,176 annually—over $1,945 weekly—or $0.66 to $0.69 CPM. The top 50% of our Hunt Transportation drivers average $93,347 per year.
Crete Carrier Corporation, together with sister company Shaffer Trucking and subsidiary Hunt Transportation, is one of the nation’s largest privately owned trucking companies. Operating as a truckload and flatbed carrier, we move virtually any commodity. Our drivers exceed the CSA score standards required by the U.S. DOT and typically stay three times longer than the competition. Some area restrictions apply.
