Job Title
What You Can Expect :
- Manage the end-to-end operational execution of ocean import shipments, ensuring the correct processing and closure of all operational procedures in company systems
- Coordinate and monitor the status of import shipments by sea, from departure to final arrival and delivery, including the management of milestones such as ETA, vessel arrival, and POD
- Prepare, verify, and process all import documentation (B/L, shipping instructions, customs documentation, and related documents), ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with maritime carriers, agents, and suppliers to ensure correct reservations, space management, and resolution of any service failures or delays
- Constantly monitor shipments and update the TMS with accurate and timely information on each phase of the transport
- Ensure full compliance with international regulations (IATA where applicable multimodal, IMDG, customs regulations, and import requirements), as well as company SOPs and customer requirements
- Manage operational communications with customers, agents, and logistics partners, providing proactive updates on shipment status, exceptions, and possible delays
- Support the Sales team in the operational verification of transport solutions and the validation of rates and service conditions
- Manage any documentary discrepancies, surcharges, or invoice issues in coordination with internal departments
- Identify inefficiencies in operational processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase service quality and reduce operational errors
What You Bring:
- 5-10 years of experience in the shipping and logistics sector, preferably with a focus on import by sea
- Diploma or degree in logistics, economics, or related fields
- Solid knowledge of end-to-end ocean import processes, including B/L management, customs documentation, and shipment coordination
- Good knowledge of Incoterms and major import and customs procedures, with familiarity with ADR, IATA, and IMDG regulations
- Excellent knowledge of the Italian and English languages, both written and spoken
- Good mastery of TMS/ERP systems (e.g., Rhesped, ROCS, or similar platforms)
- Excellent communication skills and customer orientation, with a proactive approach in managing requests and operational updates
- Ability to balance daily operational activities with business priorities
- Availability of a personal means of transport to reach the workplace
