Office of Workers' CompensationThe Louisiana Works is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to join the Office of Workers' Compensation. The Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers’ compensation laws, aiming to support early return‑to‑work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.
The incumbent will work under general supervision and perform complex legal tasks involving the interpretation and application of the Office of Workers’ Compensation hearings system policies, practices, and procedures. The position also interprets office procedures, rules, and regulations for application within the district.

Job Details:- Prepares legal, statistical, and technical documents for review and signature by the Judge and/or Attorney/Mediator.
- Processes Disputed Claims for Compensation (LDOL 1008) and settlement documents (LDOL 1090, LDOL 1005, etc.); reviews filings for completeness and validity.
- Schedules mediations, maintains electronic calendars, sets dockets, and updates case status information in the hearings system.
- Composes legal correspondence, form letters, and reports requiring independent judgment.
- Certifies true copies of official documents and exercises delegated authority to use the Judge’s signature stamp on subpoenas.
- Prepares and distributes citations and hearing notices; ensures proper service, including coordination with the Secretary of State for foreign insurers.
- Analyzes mediation reports, assigns and updates case status codes, and processes file closures.
- Creates, maintains, and researches hearing case files; enters and tracks data in computerized case management systems.
- Communicates policies, procedures, and case status information to parties, attorneys, insurance representatives, and the public.
- Receives and routes incoming mail and calls; prepares certified mail and monitors return receipts.
- Operates standard office equipment and performs related administrative duties as assigned.
