Position Summary

Gulf Management is seeking an experienced Regional Safety Tech to support multiple client locations throughout Louisiana and Florida. This role provides Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support by conducting audits, inspections, training, incident investigations, and compliance activities that promote a proactive safety culture across construction and industrial environments.

The Regional Safety Tech will work closely with company leadership and employees to identify hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Administration and serves as a key resource in helping companies maintain safe and productive operations.

Travel between locations is required weekly and on an as-needed basis. The primary schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings, weekends, and after-hours incident response as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and job site evaluations
  • Identify workplace hazards and develop corrective action recommendations
  • Assist with implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and follow-up activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, MUTCD, FMCSA, and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Maintain knowledge of changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Training & Employee Engagement
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for management and field personnel
  • Create and distribute toolbox talks and monitor program effectiveness
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and leadership on safety-related matters
  • Facilitate employee-led safety committee meetings across multiple locations
  • Support employee engagement initiatives that strengthen safety culture
Program Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and improving safety policies, procedures, and programs
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support emergency preparedness planning and program updates
  • Review dashcam footage and assist management with addressing unsafe driving events and behaviors
  • Partner with operational leaders to achieve organizational safety goals
Additional Responsibilities
  • Travel regularly throughout Louisiana and Florida based on operational and safety needs
  • Participate in occasional evening, weekend, and after-hours work related to training, meetings, and incident response
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Construction Management, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience
  • 3-5 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, FMCSA, and related safety regulations
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently
  • Must successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle report review, and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of construction safety experience
  • 1+ year of roadway construction experience
  • Experience working in multi-site operations
