Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Substation Quality Manager to oversee a substation project in Northeast Arkansas. This role supports a large solar project and involves managing multiple teams. The typical duration for such projects is about a year, but this could extend given the project's scope. Successful performance may lead to opportunities on future projects, as there is a significant backlog.
Responsibilities- Drive subcontractor performance.
- Lead subcontractor crews to construct a substation.
- Ensure overall production and quality of the job and team.
- Manage a team of up to 25 people.
- Oversee the project during the construction and commissioning phase.
- Ensure construction work complies with safety, quality, reporting, contract, standards, change management, risk management, and schedule requirements.
- Maintain proper communication with the project team and stakeholders.
- Conduct standardized reporting and appropriate construction meetings.
- Substation Quality Control experience.
- Experience in electrical distribution and power delivery.
- Strong construction management and project management skills.
- Proficiency in construction documents, QA/QC, inspection, and quality control.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with solar project substation builds is a plus.
- Experience with Entergy projects.
- Strong computer and reporting skills.
- 2+ years of experience in substation construction management.
This project is field-based and expected to last 2+ years. The role involves coordinating subcontractor crews with work hours generally exceeding 50+ per week. The individual will work 10-hour days for 5 days with a standard per diem and time and a half for overtime. Holidays and PTO are offered, and future project opportunities are viable given performance and company growth.
JobType & Location
Contract position based out of Covington, LA.
PayHourly pay range: $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
