You'll validate inputs across disciplines, oversee the integration of vendor pricing and internal cost models, and navigate complex pricing scenarios with minimal oversight. This role works closely with engineering, procurement, scheduling, and field teams to ensure every estimate is accurate, risk-informed, and aligned with client and contractual requirements, while also mentoring junior staff along the way.

Department Overview

With in-house engineering, procurement, project management, and construction management expertise, our Operations group has established itself as a highly qualified and respected EPC partner in the electric utility industry.

From the start, we have maintained an unwavering focus on schedules and budgets to ensure successful project completion. Strong project management practices and proactive risk assessment allow us to enhance project controls, minimize scope creep, and prevent costly delays. Above all, we take pride in delivering projects that emphasize client satisfaction and mutual success.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead development of multi-disciplinary cost estimates, integrating vendor pricing, internal cost models, and productivity/labor adjustments

  • Analyze historical cost data and maintain a benchmarked cost database

  • Interpret bid documents and RFPs, directing bid package assembly and quality control

  • Coordinate with schedulers, procurement, and engineering to keep estimates aligned with timelines and scope

  • Review subcontractor quotes and support vendor negotiations

  • Perform constructability reviews and develop value engineering (VE) proposals

  • Build risk registers, contingency strategies, and assumption/exclusion documentation

  • Prepare client-ready estimate reports and presentations

  • Mentor junior estimating staff

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of cost estimating experience in engineering, construction, or a related field

  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred (experience in lieu of education acceptable)

  • Experience interpreting bid documents/RFPs and reviewing subcontractor quotes

  • Advanced Excel proficiency; familiarity with estimating software and document control systems

  • Strong communication skills and experience mentoring junior staff
