We are looking for a Financial Advocate to provide exceptional member service, handle routine transactions, and promote credit union products. The role requires a personable, sales‑driven individual who can develop strong member relationships and contribute to the community.

Scope

As a member of the OnPath FCU team, the Financial Advocate will deliver cost‑effective financial services to our members, uphold the core values of empathy, passion, innovation, integrity, and commitment, and support cross‑functional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist every member with a friendly, positive, professional demeanor.
  • Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and other transactions.
  • Research, troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries regarding policies, practices and products.
  • Conduct consultative conversations to cross‑sell opportunities such as checking accounts, personal and auto loans, credit cards, refinances and debt consolidation loans; refer mortgage and commercial loans to the appropriate departments.
  • Communicate information on credit union products and services and meet or exceed referral and sales goals set by the branch.
  • Understand and interpret credit reports to offer the best solutions to members.
  • Efficiently process loan documents.
  • Assist with branch opening and closing procedures, prepare currency and coin for shipment, verify cash drawers, currency shipments and vault totals, and perform administrative tasks to keep the work environment clean and organized.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures and regulatory requirements; follow security procedures to protect against fraud and maintain member confidentiality.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
  • Up to 6 months of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Experience in a sales and/or customer service environment.
  • High school education or GED.
Skills
  • Professional courtesy and tact; effective communication with customers and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes and standards related to the responsibilities; proficiency with database software and the MS Office suite.
Physical & Mental Requirements

Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, view customer information, speak or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, lift up to 5 pounds and move up to 25 pounds. Must perform job functions independently or with limited supervision, read and follow written instructions, complete basic math calculations, speak clearly, handle multiple priorities, and exercise discretion on confidential matters.

Salary

Initial hourly rate $17.00 to $19.81, based on skills and experience, plus incentives.
