Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring delivery attendance experience and Epic proficiency, with night shift scheduling and no first-time travelers considered.
Responsibilities- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend requirement
- Patient ratio of 1:2–3 in the NICU
- Floating required to the Normal Newborn Nursery and Newborn Observation Unit (NOU), with ratios of 1:4–6 when floating
- Self-scheduling with holiday coverage required (at least 1 major and 1 minor holiday)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level III NICU setting
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- RTO is limited to 5 days or fewer for the contract duration
- Grape/purple scrubs required
- Responsibilities include attending deliveries, admitting and discharging NICU and NOU patients, coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team (NNP, MD, RN, RT, Social Services, Radiology, OT), and educating and supporting parents including breastfeeding assistance
- Procedures include assisting with chest tube insertion, PICC/UAC/UVC placement, intubation, nitric oxide administration, exchange transfusions, CBG/ABG collection, echocardiograms, EEGs, and ultrasounds
- Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Level III NICU experience required
- Delivery attendance experience (vaginal and C-section) required
- Proficiency with neonatal IV placement, lab draws, ventilator and central line management
- Experience with blood and medication administration via multiple routes (IV, IM, SQ, ETT, OGT, NGT, oral, rectal, topical, eye drops/ointment)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Work history gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained
