Job Description And Position Requirements
Evening shift, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. This position requires driving a hospital vehicle to deliver meals to off-site locations.
Responsibilities- Responsible for preparing food and setting up for in-house and outside catered events. Adjusts schedule as needed to comply with catered events.
- Communicates politely and effectively with staff and customers; acts as customer advocate.
- Assists wherever and whenever needed during labor shortages to ensure patients and customers have adequate food supplies.
- Identifies and resolves issues with HACCP compliance; demonstrates commitment to CARES when communicating with team, coworkers, and customers.
- Demonstrates commitment to food safety HACCP and FIFO in all work activities and leads others to compliance.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment, cleanliness of kitchen, clean floors, breaking down boxes, etc.
- Cross-trains to work other food production worker positions.
- Fills in for Catering Chef when out.
- No experience necessary; catering or food service experience preferred.
- Effective communication and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work anytime weekdays, weekends and holidays between 5:30am and 8:30pm.
- Non-essential during emergency conditions.
- Customer/patient focus with courtesy and respect; willingness to exceed customer expectations.
- Willingness to comply with dress code, CARES and HACCP standards.
- Ability to think logically and make decisions based on experience and training; knowledge of or willingness to learn menu items and recipes.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must possess good physical health; may require standing or walking for long periods.
- Lift at least 50 pounds; work with moderate noise.
- Constant (67%-100%) – talking, hearing, seeing
- Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, balancing, reaching, handling/feeling
- Occasionally (1%-33%) - pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching
