Retail Assistant Store Manager

Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $3.23 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management/3rd key experience. Assistant Store Managers are accountable for the day‑to‑day operations of the store and for promoting a positive, productive environment. This position partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations and satisfaction.

Alongside the Store Manager, this position analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met. The role requires commitment to the company’s asset protection program, promotion of our business, and target new customer acquisitions. Employees work with a wide variety of products, including jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (FFL locations), and more.

This position offers an hourly wage, plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Pay varies with location, qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and addressing customer issues rapidly.
  • Monitor and assist in training of Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring procedures protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer store processes and procedures, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, store systems, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Evaluate the store’s financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Maintain operating standards meeting or exceeding First Cash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
  • Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated supervisory ability.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Willingness to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
