Pelican State Electric is seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Lead Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal applicant will have a proven history of successfully leading commercial electrical projects and supervising a crew.

Although this position primarily involves commercial work, the applicant must also be willing and able to perform residential electrical work as needed.

• Lead and supervise electricians and helpers

• Read and interpret electrical plans, specifications and schedules

• Plan daily work and assign tasks to crew members

• Coordinate manpower, materials and jobsite activities

• Perform commercial electrical installations, troubleshooting and repairs

• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and according to applicable codes

• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors and project representatives

• Track project progress and report jobsite needs

• Perform residential electrical work when needed

• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles

• Verifiable experience as a commercial lead electrician or electrical foreman

• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and installations

• Ability to independently manage a crew and maintain production

• Ability to read blueprints and electrical plans

• Working knowledge of the NEC and jobsite safety requirements

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

• Dependable attendance and professional attitude

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Reliable transportation to the designated meeting or work location

• Résumé or verifiable work history is required

• $27–$34 per hour, depending on experience

• Take-home vehicle privileges may depend on the employee’s home location
