Job Title
Procurement Manager, North America Capex
LocationThis position can be based out of any of our sites:
Englewood Cliffs, NJ;
Covington, TN;
St Albans, VT; or Sikeston, MO.
Full‑time, project‑based assignment anticipated to last 2 years. Eligible to apply for internal opportunities upon completion; continued employment is not guaranteed.
OverviewWithin this challenging role you will manage the North America Engineering stakeholders and support the Portfolio Procurement Manager for the Capex portfolio, responsible for following up strategic activities with some operational and tactical activities assigned to you.
Responsibilities- Participate in and lead kick‑off project meetings.
- Build and maintain beneficial relationships with Project Engineering teams.
- Serve as main contact between the Global Capex Procurement Manager and engineering teams.
- Support market procurement managers in implementing strategy.
- Lead Red List and Technology Sensitive projects as requested.
- Support Quality, Hygienic and Manufacturing Excellence Team with local and global suppliers.
- Assist the Global Procurement Manager with management and implementation of Capex Procurement strategy and escalation.
- Build and maintain relationships with Market Procurement Managers through periodic meetings and create decks.
- Lead development and implementation of procurement strategies relevant for projects including data analysis and negotiation strategy definition.
- Understand legislations and laws operating in North America.
- Support the project technology team in identifying new capable suppliers and supplier assessment (commercial, technical).
- Manage multiple stakeholders including engineering, legal, finance and suppliers.
- Participate and contribute to project meetings and lead procurement planning process.
- Run specific sourcing projects including preparation, assessment and negotiation of tenders.
- Evaluate and facilitate decision‑making process taking into account cost, lifecycle, LCC/TCO analysis.
- Negotiate legal documentation – Master Purchase Agreement and commercial terms contracts with suppliers in conjunction with legal team.
- Ensure compliance to ‘Schedule of Authority’ applicable to the project and country.
- Evaluate historical data for portfolio and negotiation strategy definition.
- Develop and implement TMICC procurement strategies relevant for assigned projects.
- Manage, advise and oversee 7‑step sourcing projects.
- Assist Global Engineering team in selecting, piloting and rolling out new suppliers with market capability.
- Lead and support UPA/CTC negotiations with support of legal for local and global technologies.
- Raise and negotiate claims on portfolio suppliers.
- Avoid single source justification notes.
- Actively engage with and manage suppliers on a strategic level giving feedback.
- Identify and agree cost savings and cash benefit generation based on portfolios, sourcing strategies and compliance management.
- Oversee update of portfolio tracker for savings, cash, projects and contracts.
- Oversee and support suppliers involved in assigned projects ensuring timely payments and onboarding.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 8 years of experience, preferably within a technical procurement position.
- Specific procurement and/or engineering education preferred.
- Superior stakeholder management, both internal and external.
- Ability to operate independently.
- Ability to operate in a large organization with complex decision structures and remote relationships.
- Experience in legal contracting, project and relationship management.
- Proactive and positive team player.
- Good negotiation skills for external and internal negotiations.
- Good communication skills.
- Methodical and organized.
- Proficient in MS Office (more than average on MS Excel), SharePoint and SAP.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
