The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.
Responsibilities- Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
- Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
- Interviewing patients
- Obtaining vital signs
- Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
- Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
- Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
- Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
- Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
- Sending and receiving of patient medical records
- Facilitating patient referrals
- Preparing forms for patients
- Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Current BLS certification

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $26.29 - $37.91 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
