This position is considered a trainee who is learning the mechanics of sprinkler system installation. This position may be responsible for site clean-up, unloading, staging, and distributing work material to other employees at a job site. Position will also cut and thread pipe. May install and test fire sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Sprinkler Fitter. Position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Sprinkler Fitter.

The Helper is also responsible for assisting in maintaining a clean, well-organized vehicle and ensuring a safe environment for his/herself, co-workers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and service fire sprinkler systems
• Cut and thread pipe and manage material
• Assist in the installation of valves, couplings, and other fittings
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment
• Learn construction project skills, including reading blue prints

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and math skills
• Must exhibit the initiative to learn the skills of the trade
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
