Craig Middle School is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and team‑oriented candidate to fill the Volunteer Assistant Boys Basketball Coach position.
Responsibilities- Coordinate all basketball team levels.
- Develop and run summer and/or off‑season programs.
- Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills.
- Assist in establishing expectations and a positive direction for the program.
- Track eligibility and academic progress of students.
- Prepare the team for competition.
- Attend all required meetings and maintain communication with parents, players, staff, and media.
- Maintain the general upkeep, protection, distribution, collection, and inventory of all equipment.
- Use school facilities and property appropriately.
- Follow district and CHSAA regulations and policies.
- Represent the school and district during interscholastic practices, meetings, and activities.
- Work within the framework of the school system’s goals, Board of Education policies, and departmental procedures.
- Follow rules, protocols, handbooks, district policies, regulations, and expectations.
- Adhere to FERPA guidelines regarding student information and confidentiality.
- Act as part of the MCSD team, handling all issues professionally, confidentially, and transparently.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous basketball coaching experience and/or knowledge of fundamental and advanced basketball skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of CHSAA regulations or willingness to become knowledgeable.
- Ability to be part of a team environment.
- Knowledge of all aspects of Moffat County School District athletic/activity programming.
- Proven leadership qualities and successful experience working with students.
