Assistant Girls Volleyball Coach

Responsibilities
  • Assist with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing players in rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach.
  • Assist with coordinating all levels of the program and summer/off‑season programs.
  • Implement expectations and direction of the program.
  • Prepare the team for competition.
  • Communicate with parents, players, school staff, media, etc.
  • Follow school and CHSAA regulations and policies.
  • Represent the school and school district at all times during interscholastic practices, meetings, and activities.
  • Conduct work within the framework of the goals of the school system, Board of Education policies and procedures of the athletics department, and the designated sport club.
  • Follow all rules, protocols and procedures as outlined in handbooks, district policies, regulations, rules and expectations.
  • Follow FERPA guidelines regarding student information and confidentiality.
  • Represent the team professionally and confidentially, and communicate any issues transparently.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous volleyball coaching experience and/or knowledge of fundamental and advanced skills of volleyball.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified.
  • Willingness to be part of a team environment.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the Moffat County School District athletic/activity programming.
  • Proven leadership qualities and successful experience in working with middle‑school students.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community; speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk or listen; occasionally required to run, stoop, kneel, lift or move up to 50 lbs, and push items 75 lbs or more. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Employees spend most coaching time outside and are exposed to various weather conditions. Expected noise level is moderate to loud, which is acceptable for this environment.
