Purpose of Job:
Responsible for assisting the principal with leadership, direction, supervision, operations, and accountability of the academic and non-academic duties of school personnel, providing for the proper and efficient operation of school facilities and programs. To provide on-site direct support to the site staff and students in the overall management and operation of the school, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment. Assist with a wide range of tasks, including overseeing student discipline and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Essential Functions, Duties and Major Accountabilities:
- Serve as an instructional leader by monitoring implementation of professional development and instructional efforts in accordance with the school improvement plan, school policies, and procedures
- Promote an effective, safe, alternative learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds to prepare students for graduation and transition to college and/or careers beyond graduation
- Implement and monitor behavioral expectations and policies including monitoring attendance trends and overseeing truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations
- Create partnerships with parents and community
- Collect and analyze student assessment data that aid in student recruiting, retention, and graduation
- Plan, schedule and coordinate school projects, curriculum, achievement reporting, events, activities, and initiatives
- Manage site budgets according to GOAL's financial policies and procedures
- Maintain clear communications and good working relationships with all staff members
- Help develop and maintain effective and consistent policies and procedures for students, parents, and employees, and ensure their implementation (e.g., field trip procedures, enrollment procedures)
- Supervise employees including serving as an instructional leader assigning and directing work, interviewing, evaluating performance, disciplining and resolving issues
- Maintain a general understanding of the provisions of laws relating to charter schools
- Maintain a high level of professional communication (both verbally and in writing) with other GOAL staff, students, and parents to deliver program information and address individual student needs
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others
