Job Title:

Full Time Building Substitute

Position Summary: The full time substitute position is scheduled to work every day that school is in session and will sub for any vacancies that were not filled. They could sub for a teacher, secretary, paraprofessional or aide.

Salary:
  • Daily rate of 120 with out certification.
  • 1 Year Sub Auth - 135 Per day
  • 3 Year Sub Auth - 145 Per day
  • 5 Year Sub Auth - 155 Per day
Education and/or

Experience:

Minimum requirement – must have an active at minimum one year substitute authorization issued to you from the Colorado Department of Education. All candidates must complete a background check prior to working in the school district.

Responsibilities:
  • Report to school 10 to 15 minutes prior to start of job.
  • Check in with building secretary.
  • Carefully follow the teacher’s/employees plans, in the event plans are not available, you should formulate plans for the day with input from the building administrator, other teachers, teacher aide and students.
  • Supervise and aide/instruct student or students assigned.
  • Assist teachers and other employees as needed.
  • When you leave for the day, report to the office with a summary of the day’s work covered, complete necessary reports and grading and leave the desk, books and room in good order.
Typical Work Day

The normal workday for Guest Teachers corresponds with that of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting. The duty hours, such as playground or crosswalk, may vary in some cases and the weather can vary as well so be prepared with appropriate clothing if you will have any of these duties that may be outside the building. The main office will know this information.

Guest Teachers are expected to remain at the school for the full duty of the teacher for whom they are substituting. In some cases, a teacher may be finished with students before the end of a workday. Principals may assign you with other duties to finish out a day. Note if you are assigned to a teacher as a long term substitute additional duties may include but may not be limited to additional after hours activities such as parent teacher conferences.

These activities are considered part of the teachers normal duties and do not give additional reimbursement. Please make sure to communicate with the principal to understand these additional duties of your specific teacher that you will be filling in for.
