• Shows patients totheexamination room andpreparesthem for the provider.
• Records patients’past medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation.
• Maintains compliance withinthe department andclinic, as well as with instate and federal regulations and policies.
• Working knowledge ofphone:answers, greets,anddirectsby phone.
  
  Takes messages and documentsinthepatient’srecord.
• Caresfor instruments,i.e.,cleaning, packaging,and sterilizing (where sterilization equipment is available).
• Participates in mandatory in-services and attends staff meetings.
• Follows policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness andparticipatesin drills.
• Respects the confidentiality of patient records and uses complete discretion when discussing patient information in accordancewithHIPAA.
• Utilizes all department forms and documents in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) appropriately.
• Identifies victims and the process for reporting abuse.
• Collects, labels, and transports all specimens appropriately.
• Demonstrates proper techniques when settingup for procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of emergency and routine equipment and procedures.
• Collaborates with patient care planning. Activelyparticipatesin education specific to patient diagnosis andneeds.
• Assists providers with special tests and procedures.
• Acts as a resource person to other staff members.
• Maintainsa positive and supportive behavior toward steam members,staff members,and other departments within the organization.
• Participates in process improvement teams or in interdepartmental efforts.
• Assesses every patient for safety,medication dosage appropriateness,and other needs.
• Actsas a liaison between patients, families, providers,and staff.
• Completes workload as assigned.
• Administersmedicationandperforms treatment in accordancewithstandards of care. Translates medications into pediatric doses andusesproper equipment for the patient’s size and age.
• Floats to other clinical departments as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
