License: ARRT registration in Radiology (R) including Computed Tomography (CT)

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire

Must-Have:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Proficiency in IV placement for contrast administration

Ability to operate imaging equipment according to manufacturer recommendations

Knowledge of electronic records including PACS and RIS/HIS

Description:

To provide diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities.

Ensure accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care.

Prioritize patient education by explaining procedures, equipment, and exams.

Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment.

Position patients for CT scans using positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.

Perform all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols agreed upon with the Radiologist.

Assist radiologist with routine and interventional CT procedures.

Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in exposure sequence, and label appropriately.

Film and transmit to the Image Archival System.

Dispense and/or order oral contrast to patients for CT scans.

Demonstrate proficiency and advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures such as X-ray and Fluoroscopy.

Practice radiation safety by adhering to ALARA standards.

Troubleshoot equipment problems and independently call a service engineer if maintenance is needed.

Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record system, including charging procedures and supplies.

Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking additional shifts as needed.

Obtain additional training or certification as required.

Assist with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when necessary.

Assist, train, or cross-train imaging staff members as  self-motivated, use independent judgment, and work with minimal supervision.

Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory.

Perform other duties as assigned.
