Work Schedule:School year with additional hours for trips if available and wanted.
Salary:$22.00 – $34.10 dependent upon experience. Classified Salary Schedule, paid training and Class B CDL licensing.
Summary:Drives bus safely and properly, transporting students over specified routes according to time schedule. Maintains discipline according to school procedures. Complies with traffic regulations.
Education and/orExperience:
Satisfactory driving record as determined by the local Board of Education policy. Must pass a physical exam including a drug test.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Must be able to obtain a CDL P2 S License. Must pass all required tests and examinations approved by the Colorado Department of Education and Colorado Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division. Must possess a Standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate.
Requirement:Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger P endorsement. Upon hiring, you will need to pass the S endorsement knowledge test and skills test in a school bus.
Optional:We will reimburse for the P endorsement after 12 months of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Drives a school bus on a prescribed route which will not be altered unless directed to do so by the Director of Transportation or Highway/Road Official.
- Operates buses according to CDE rules and regulations, federal laws, local laws, school policy and regulation.
- Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip inspections; reports any defects to proper authorities.
- Keeps the bus as clean as possible- inside and outside.
- Fuel bus when scheduled.
- Keep route map current and time as close as possible.
- Keeps the seating chart up to date.
- Keeps the current list of students who are eligible to ride the bus.
- Operates routes in as friendly a manner as possible.
- Keep scheduled route times as close as possible.
- Maintains communication with riders and parents.
- Communicate in person and on a two-way radio for routine, urgent and emergency situations. Report all unsafe route and bus stop conditions to the scheduler/dispatcher.
- Use proper procedures when working with special education and wheel chair students. Aid in the loading and unloading process of students needing assistance in boarding as well as those with special needs, via stairs or lift mechanisms. Ensure that all seatbelts, safety vests and other required restraint devices are used properly. Protect all student confidential information.
- Attend all meetings and training sessions including all in services and driver meetings, first aid and CPR classes that are required by the district.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervises students while transporting them.

LanguageSkills:
Ability to read and comprehend required tests and manuals. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children and other district employees.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OtherSkills and Abilities:
