Position: Childcare Education Assistant Role
Location: Kimberley

Contribute to early childhood education as a Childcare Education Assistant at Summit Community Services Society. This full-time role is based at Second Steps Daycare, focusing on leading developmental activities for young learners.

In this position covering maternity leave, you will work 40 hours per week, aligning your practice with IHA’s childcare regulations and the BC Early Learning Framework. Your goal will be to design and implement growth-oriented activities for children aged 3 years to school age while enhancing their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to children

• Collaborate closely with co-educators to support developmental goals

• Maintain effective communication with families and team

• Comply with all licensing regulations and confidentiality rules

• Keep the daycare environment organized and sanitized

Requirements:

• Certification as an ECEA

• First Aid and Food Safe Certifications

• Successful Criminal Record Check

• Strong organizational and partnership skills

• Ability to lead and motivate others effectively
