Currently, we are seeking a technician who possess a strong understanding of Telecom & Security Installations in the Cranbrook area.

The potential candidate should consider the following attribute and overall deliverables.

The role of the Telecom & Security Systems Technician is to perform the installation & repair of equipment and telecommunication services for residential and small business customers of CNI’s National telecom carrier clients.

• Experience installing and configuring Residential and Business Security Systems
• Experience provisioning and repairing Fibre and Copper telecommunication technologies providing data Lan/Wan & Wi-Fi internet access to locally installed security systems
• Experience with face-to-face customer interactions and working a loft on extension ladders
• Experience in sales considered an asset
• Identify and engage with client telecommunication needs
• Develop a thorough understanding of products and services and their benefits to effectively identify clients’ telecommunications needs
• Promote to clients’ additional telecommunications products and services
• Meet or exceed individual sales goals and performance metrics
• Applicants with existing Government security clearance credentials will receive priority consideration
• Previous security installers or telco I&R (Bell Technical Solutions or similar) experience would be considered an asset

• Working on ladders up to 32 feet aloft
• Able to lift 75 Lbs of materials to chest height
• Valid driver's license and the ability to operate a light duty commercial truck
• Installing security camera & sensors and configuration of access panels and monitoring protocols
• Installing and testing Fibre Internet services & configuration of wireless access points
• Running and dressing copper and fibre service drops & connections from the the closest network distribution terminal the customer demarcation point, as well as running & terminating any required ISW to the client's requested security equipment termination locations
• Configuring and testing the transport path as well as the data modems and Security devices in compliance with CNI’s award winning Quality Assurance M&Ps
• Remote accessing and performing real time data updates with job dispatch and customer care systems provided by CNI as well as those systems and databases supplied by CNI’s National telecom carrier client
• Strong pride in your work and quality and willingness to travel as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Experience:

• Alarm Technician: 1 year (preferred)
• I&R Copper/Fibre Telecom: 1 year (preferred)
• Security Systems I&R: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Drivers Licence (required)
