This is a full‑time, on‑site Certified Public Accountant role based in Cranford, NJ. The CPA will prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Daily responsibilities include compiling, analyzing, and reconciling financial information, preparing financial statements, and supporting outsourced accounting engagements for business clients. The role involves communicating with clients to gather information, explain findings, and provide proactive tax and accounting guidance.
The CPA will also assist with tax planning, respond to tax notices, support estate and trust engagements, and collaborate with team members to improve internal processes and client service.
- Strong technical foundation in Accounting and Finance, with the ability to interpret financial data and apply relevant standards.
- Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Proficiency in Tax Preparation for individuals and businesses, including multi‑state returns and familiarity with current tax laws and regulations.
- Active Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license or CPA eligibility in progress, with a commitment to ongoing professional education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Quickbooks Online and CCH Axcess tax software, general ledger systems, and Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with a client‑focused, collaborative approach.
- Public accounting experience, including work with small and mid‑sized businesses, estates, and trusts, is highly preferred.
