Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the catalog description and approved syllabus, following the scheduled class times and using interactive teaching approaches, technologies, and methods when possible.
- Incorporate diverse perspectives, cultural and national perspectives into courses.
- Use library resources, writing instruction, computing, and other academic technologies in courses when appropriate.
- Attend all scheduled class meetings.
- Advise the Division Dean/Assistant Dean promptly about absences.
- Maintain accurate grade and attendance records for enrolled students; submit required reports to the Dean, Assistant Dean, or Student Records Office.
- Submit grades by the published deadline.
- Participate in the assessment of learning outcomes and apply assessment results to course planning.
- Ensure availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment necessary for successful instruction.
- Submit progress reports on student counseling, athletic oversight, and record‑keeping purposes; discuss any student issues requiring special attention with counselors and other appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to college policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s Degree in the discipline required unless otherwise specified.
- Some teaching experience at the community‑college level is required.
- Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview; official transcripts will be required upon hire.
- Teaching experience at the community‑college level.

- Certification or license as needed and appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates.
- Willingness to use alternative educational delivery systems and instructional techniques.
- Commitment to integrating library, computers, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into the curriculum.

- Commitment to providing out‑of‑class interaction with students.
- Fundamental competency in the use of information technology.
- Commitment to continued assessment of the teaching‑learning process and its outcomes.

- Demonstrated mastery of subject matter of discipline.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Position duties are performed in a typical interior/residence work environment.
- Occasional lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
- No or limited exposure to physical risk.
- Some travel required.
Terms of Employment
Part time. Employees must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
