Responsibilities

• Faculty member shall teach courses as assigned.
• Faculty member must possess willingness to teach in person and/or be certified to teach online.
• Teaches assigned courses in accordance with catalog descriptions and approved syllabi, following the class schedule and incorporating interactive approaches, technologies, and methods when possible.
• Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
• Incorporates use of the library, uses writing as an instructional method, and utilizes computing and other academic technologies when possible.
• Meets all scheduled class meetings.
• Notifies the Division Dean/Assistant Dean of absences in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate grade and attendance records for students, submitting required reports to the Dean/Assistant Dean or Student Records Office.
• Submits grades by the published deadline.
• Participates in assessment of learning outcomes and demonstrates the use of assessment results in course planning.
• Plans in advance to ensure availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment necessary for successful teaching.
• Submits progress reports on students for counseling, athletic oversight, and record‑keeping purposes, and discusses any student problems that may require special attention with counselors and other appropriate personnel.
• Adheres to College policies and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, Engineering, or Business with at least 2 years of industry work experience required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Some teaching experience required.

Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview; official transcripts upon hire.

Teaching experience at the community college level.

• Certification or license as needed and appropriate.

• Position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment based on the activity scheduled.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds required.
• Limited exposure to physical risk.
• Some travel required.
