Substation Senior Engineer (Cranford, NJ)Responsibilities include:
conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations; procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization; development and delivery of physical, electrical design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications; autonomous QA/QC in primary substation design; coaching and mentoring of less experienced engineers; coordination of specialized tasks with ECI’s subject matter expert discipline groups such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission & Distribution Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls.
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of project and design engineering experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and planning skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and commit to quality and accuracy.
- Willingness to meet fast‑paced project schedules.
- Advanced knowledge of power engineering principals, applicable codes, standards and design tools.
- Basic project management execution skills and ability to oversee and direct design personnel.
- PE license preferred.
- Experience in utility or merchant power industry a plus.

The successful applicant may be subject to client‑mandated drug and background checking.
CompensationSalary range: $135,000 to $211,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education.
