The Horizon Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with strong mortgage operational experience. This role is senior enough to independently release all firm wires while maintaining rigorous control standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in collateral workflows, funding operations, closing packages, exception clearing, and loan onboarding. This individual will partner closely with deal teams, title companies, custodians, and banking partners to ensure seamless execution across the full mortgage operations lifecycle.

ResponsibilitiesLoan Lifecycle Management
- Manage end‑to‑end mortgage operations including loan intake, documentation review, collateral tracking, and lien perfection.
- Coordinate with title companies, attorneys, warehouse banks, and custodians to ensure timely closings and post‑close compliance.
- Maintain collateral logs, reconcile documentation, and clear exceptions with custodians and counter parties.
- Independently review, approve, and release all outgoing wires for the firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and dual‑control adherence.
- Initiate and coordinate wires for:
- Fund side: investment closings, capital calls, investor distributions, and fund operating expenses.
- Management company side: vendor payments, and intercompany transfers.
- Validate all funding wire packages including payoffs, settlement statements, title documents, and funding conditions.
- Forecast cash requirements for upcoming obligations and provide reporting to controllers and CFO.
- Board loans accurately into servicing or asset management systems and validate key data fields for accuracy.
- Monitor trailing documents (recorded mortgages, assignments, final title policies) and resolve deficiencies.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mortgage operations workflows.
- Implement and monitor operational risk controls, including wire protocols, document audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Support internal deal teams with operational readiness, closing timelines, and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- 5–7 years of mortgage operations experience, preferably within Residential Transitional Lending, private lending, or mortgage banking.
- Demonstrated ability to review and release wires in a controlled financial environment.
- Strong understanding of collateral workflows, title processes, payoff validation, and closing documentation.
- Experience coordinating with custodians, warehouse banks, and title/settlement agents.
- Proficiency with wire portals and operational workflow tools.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment.
