Air Export Operator

Company Overview:

Altius Talent is partnering with a well-established freight forwarding and customs brokerage organization to identify an experienced Air Export Operator for their New Jersey operation.

The Air Export Operator will manage the end-to-end handling of air export shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery for clients. This role suits a detail-oriented logistics professional comfortable working directly with carriers, clients, and internal teams.

• Coordinate and manage air export shipments from booking through delivery
• Prepare export documentation including AWBs, commercial invoices, and packing lists
• Ensure compliance with AES filing requirements and export regulations
• Book cargo space with airlines and negotiate rates as needed
• Track shipments and proactively communicate status updates to clients
• Maintain accurate records in the company's operating system (e.g., Cargo Wise)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, agents, and clients

• 2+ years of experience as an Air Export Operator or in a similar freight forwarding role
• Strong knowledge of AES filing, export documentation, and IATA regulations
• Experience with Cargo Wise or similar freight forwarding software preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong communication skills for client and carrier coordination
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
