Doucette CPAs is a growing full-service accounting, tax and consulting firm seeking talented accountants who may be new to public accounting to complement our tax and accounting services teams.
The candidate must be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently and independently. Excellent oral and written communication as well as strong interpersonal skills required.
Ideal candidates will have 0-2 years of experience in public accounting, be willing to learn, and possess a commitment to delivering exceptional client service as they strengthen their technical skills to advance within the firm.

Responsibilities- Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
- Ensure professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate
- Handle routine client tax, audit, and accounting questions
- Complete audit work papers and perform audit testing procedures on audit areas fundamental to the financial statements
- Work with the tax team to prepare tax returns, extension filings, etc.
- Verify and enter transactions into Quick Books or other client accounting program
- Administrate accounts receivable and payable functions if needed
- Record payroll and various adjusting journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Work with the accounting team to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping and accounting services
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports. Prepare appropriate schedules for fixed assets, prepaid expense records, and general ledger accounts receivable and payable functions if needed
- Complete research and special projects as needed
- Correspond with internal and external clients
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted accounting standards (GAAS)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills aligned with firm culture
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective time management skills to consistently meet deadlines and adhere to budgets
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business matters with discretion
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (minimum)
- 0-2 years of experience in public accounting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), knowledge using accounting software and familiarity with Quick Books Online is preferred but not required
- Candidate must reside locally with the ability to work primarily in our Franklin, MA office at the time of onboarding
- After training period (90 days), candidates have the ability to work remotely 2 days a week (if desired)
- Reliable transportation is required for client meetings and off-site fieldwork
