Bright Stars helps families in Rhode Island access QUALITY child care, early learning, and school-age programs. We help child care providers learn about best practices in early learning and apply them to the care children receive. We recognize program quality and give parents information to make choices about their children’s care and education.
Position DescriptionWe’re seeking compassionate, creative, and skilled teachers to join our early learning team. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering social-emotional growth, early literacy, curiosity, and joyful exploration. This role is perfect for an educator who thrives in collaborative environments and values high-quality, developmentally appropriate practice.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards
- Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families
- Support children’s social-emotional development using positive guidance and trauma-informed practices
- Observe, document, and assess children’s progress to inform instruction
- Collaborate with teaching partners, and administrators to support inclusive learning
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families to strengthen home–school connections

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent coursework)
- RI Early Childhood certification preferred
- Experience working with children in a licensed early learning setting
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, play-based learning, and family engagement
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching
