The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Operations Team working on Data Center, Vehicle Manufacturing, or General Build Construction projects.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and seamless execution of construction projects. Your responsibilities include assisting the Management Teams with all technical aspects of project management, coordinating between stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Technical support involves participation in construction planning and design, interpreting designs, applying construction methods, resolving and documenting design conflicts, conducting constructability reviews, and processing shop drawings.

You will also develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and work controlling documents in the Prolog database, manage material status reports, process RFI (Request for Information), and record meeting minutes.

Location

You can be located anywhere in the US, with a willingness to travel to client projects on a long-term basis.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

  • Project Execution: Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule. Provide technical support including participation in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution of design conflicts, constructability reviews, and shop drawing processing. Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents.
  • Budget Management: Assist in monitoring expenditure, tracking financial progress, and ensuring costs remain within the budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.
  • Resource Management: Foster a collaborative environment, guiding and supporting team members. Manage project engineering and related personnel activities, including subcontractor planning and administration, work assignments, and interface with on-site departments to resolve issues and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  • Risk Management: Represent the company, project, and/or department during A/E, client, and project management meetings.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a key technical person on projects, potentially responsible for one or more small to medium-sized projects.
  • Qualifications

    To qualify, you must have:

    • A 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
    • At least 5 years of similar construction engineering experience.
    • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and an understanding of interdependent functional units.

    Ideally, you’ll also have:

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • The ability to implement innovative management strategies to enhance project and employee performance.

    Skills and Attributes for Success

    • Technical knowledge encompassing construction and engineering processes, procurement, project controls reporting, and contract management.
    • Proficiency in budget management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
    • Experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to changing project requirements.
