Location: Providence, RI, United States (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $26.35/hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Summer hours beginning May 27: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

About the Role

The Financial Coordinator supports day-to-day financial operations by processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reporting. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and experience working with financial systems and spreadsheets.

Key Responsibilities Financial Transactions (70%)
  • Process and manage financial transactions in Workday, including supplier invoices, reimbursements, requisitions, purchase orders, and wire transfers. Monitor transactions from initiation through completion to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Review supporting documentation and collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain required information.
  • Manage and maintain records such as supplier registration forms, professional service agreements, and guest speaker documentation.
  • Apply appropriate worktags and coding to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct monthly transaction reviews and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
Business Processes and System Updates (20%)
  • Stay current with system updates and new functionality in Workday.
  • Participate in training and refresher sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with business staff to review policy updates and financial processes.
Reporting Support (10%)
  • Assist with financial reporting and reconciliation of budget coding errors.
  • Respond to internal questions related to financial transactions.
  • Prepare statistical and transactional reports as needed.
Required Skills
  • Experience with Workday financial transactions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, spreadsheets, and data tracking).
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service mindset.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience with financial systems such as Workday or similar platforms.
